When the famous Monterey Cypress in La Jolla's Scripps Park fell, it was certainly heard by literature fans around the world. The enormous tree's signature shape makes it clear that the seaside town's most famous resident also thought it to be a magnificent sight. Theodor Seuss Geisel lived in La Jolla from 1948 to his death in 1991 and the Truffula Trees from his 1971 classic The Lorax bear a striking resemblance to the the Scripps Park Monterey Cypress.
Our very own Kate Harrow worked with the La Jolla city utility crew and salvaged several of the sections of the Lorax Tree that were destined for the wood chipper. Now, after a lot of work drying and milling this beautiful timber, it's available for custom gifts. Each comes with a certificate of authenticity and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Arbor Day Foundation. We, also, speak for the trees.
All Bow & Harrow pens are refillable and come standard with black ink. Rollerball pens take “Schmidt 5888” and fountain pens come with an ink converter and a pre-filled cartridge.
